Orange Mobile Broadband reviews and offers
Orange mobile broadband review

Our mobile broadband service rating for Orange:

Orange, as with O2, offer a limited but adequate range of packages - in fact just one 'consumer' package is available. Download speeds are respectable, reaching 1.4Mbps in testing and averages of around 550Kbps - not the best but certainly not the worst. Upload speeds were compartively good, averaging 300Kbps.
The software installation process is the most time-consuming of all the networks - however, it still only takes around five minutes - and is the only process that required a reboot of the PC. Orange does say though that it's releasing new software shortly. The Business Anywhere software ships with some content-filtering which can be hap-hazard in its blocking decisions. This feature can be turned off though by contacting customer services.
We recommend Orange mobile broadband for people who want a reasonably priced service and who have good local Orange network coverage.

Orange offers Eee PC with mobile broadband
£25 a month for the laptop, dongle and 3GB data...
Orange is to launch a range of packages that bundle mobile broadband access with laptops, including Asus's Eee PC.
The Connected Laptop package starts at £25 and includes an Asus Eee PC 900 alongside a dongle for mobile broadband access and connection to Orange's Internet Everywhere tariff that offers a data allowance of 3GB and 100 texts.
The mobile provider is also offering a laptop deal for small businesses, but rather than an Eee PC, business users can choose between an HP 6730s with either an Intel Celeron or an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, or the HP 6730b, also with a Core 2 Duo chip. All three laptops come with Windows Vista.
Small business users will receive their chosen laptop and will be connected to the 'Business Everywhere' service, which is available on either a £35, £40 or £45 tariff. The two cheapest tariffs include a dongle while the most expensive comes with an embedded Orange SIM. All three tariffs feature 500 minutes of Wi-Fi access per month and a 5GB data allowance.
Purchasers must sign up to the packages, which will be available from August, for 24 months.
Orange UK to accelerate HSDPA rollout
Thirty UK cities to have 7.2Mbps within 18 months, with 14.4Mbps to follow as part of service overhaul.
Orange UK is aggressively expanding its mobile broadband offering, with 7.2Mbps HSDPA rolling out in 30 cities over the next 18 months and 'super-fast' 14.4Mbps connections available in five cities during 2009.
The push is part of a wider revamp of Orange UK announced on 4th June, encompassing end-user services and its internal organisation.
The company says its Orange Labs R&D units will be rolling out 'totally connected' products over the next 12 months, including laptops that can switch between Oranges fixed line and cellular data networks.
Orange To Recall Customer Care Functions from India to the UK
Orange's new CEO Tom Alexander has outlined plans for Orange in the UK, which include hiring 500 new customer care staff in the UK while also cutting 450 jobs in administration, management and support functions.
Kicking off the new strategy, he outlined initial plans for the company including introducing a new structure for the board and organisation; launching a new line of 'totally connected' Orange products including laptops; creating new jobs in customer centres and Orange Shops; stopping the expansion of offshore customer service in India; reducing duplication in management roles; launching new high-street stores; accelerating the rollout of the high-speed data network; developing industry-leading new services; and launching new innovative customer propositions that transcend the way broadband and mobile services are currently marketed and sold.
Mr Alexander said: "Orange is an iconic brand, a great business, and we're going to build on that success to become the best-loved telecommunications company in Britain. To reach that goal, we need to give our customers consistent quality - quality of network, products, service and experience. Delivering that quality will see the number of customers who join, stay and spend with us grow. The telecommunications market has evolved dramatically in recent times and it is my aim to make sure that Orange is at the forefront of serving today's 21st century customer - a customer who is web-savvy, product-savvy and, quite rightly, demands a premium service at the same time as best value for money."
